Survival Experts always recommend at least 2 forms of fire starters or fire starting tools. Flint strikers and magnesium fire starters are extremely effective backup and even primary fire starting tools. Always reliable and effective no matter the conditions. Magnesium blocks are advantageous in that they provide combustible tinder and a flint striker in one tool.
