DEET is a slightly yellowish oil that is primarily used for repelling insects. It is one of few scientifically proven bug repellents, and is known to repel mosquitoes by disturbing the olfactory sensors, in other words, it smells really bad to them!
As a safety precaution, this product and others that contain DEET, should not be worn underneath clothing or on damaged skin due to mildly adverse health effects when exposed over long periods of time and on a regular basis.
